Ensemble KNM Performing Hugues Dufourt Composition in Berlin
Following the huge success of AMERIKA (the first concert of the cycle Le monde d’après Tiepolo from French composer and philosopher Hugues Dufourt), the Ensemble KNM will perform a second concert entitled EUROPA at the Radialsystem V. at 20:00 on 29 April 2017 in Berlin, Germany.
In 1752 and 1753 Giovanni Battista Tiepolo painted one of the biggest works of the Occident for the Würzburg Residence: a massive ceiling fresco representing the four continents America, Europe, Asia and Africa known at that time. Inspired by that fresco, Hugues Dufourt created the cycle Apollon et les continents d’après Tiepolo which consists of four compositions, each composition dedicated to one continent.
For the concert EUROPA, the Ensemble KNM is collaborating with the Ensemble Komboï, an ensemble specializing in the production of contemporary music with historical instruments.
The concert cycle Le monde d’après Tiepolo is supported by the Franco-German fund for contemporary classical music, Impuls neue Musik.
