Florian Sempey at the Royal Opera House in October
Florian Sempey (RSB Management) returns to the Royal Opera House in October to sing Schaunard in La Bohème (from October 3rd to the 10th) and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (from October 5th to the 14th).
The Royal Opera House, also known as Covent Garden, is one of the leading opera venues in the world. Directed by Antonio Pappano, it is based in Covent Garden Theatre (2 250 seats) and programs 22 to 24 productions each year – from traditional operas to new commissioned works.
Florian Sempey is a French baritone trained at the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Paris. He has performed in major European venues and festivals including the Paris Opera, the Rome Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin or the Rossini Opera Festival. He was awarded a Prix du Cercle Carpeaux in 2012 by the Opéra Garnier and was nominated at the Victoires de la musique classique in 2013 in the category ‘’Lyrical Artist Revelation’’. He first came to the Royal Opera House singing the title role in the Barbiere di Siviglia in 2016/2017. He has not only sung the major parts of the opera repertoire (Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly or Valentin in Faust), but also outstanding lyrical pieces (Missa di Gloria, Saint-François d’Assise, Poème de l’Amour et de la Mer) with the famous Orchestre de Radio France or Orchestre du Capitole .
La Bohème will be conducted by Antonio Pappano and Florian Sempey will interpret Schaunard on October 3rd, 6th, 7th and 10th. In Die Zauberflöte conducted by Julia Jones on October 5th, 7th, 11th, 13th and 14th, he will be Papageno.
