“Mozart: Don Giovanni” by Le Cercle de l’Harmonie Available Now
8 September, French ensemble Le Cercle de l’Harmonie released the third and last instalment in the “Live at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées” series of Mozart operas conducted by Jérémie Rhorer. After Die Entführung aus dem Serail and La clemenza di Tito comes Don Giovanni, recorded in 2016.
Le Poème Harmonique was created in 2005 by Jérémie Rhorer and violinist Julien Chauvin. Connecting works from the Classical and Romantic periods, the ensemble’s repertory covers a century of music, of which Berlioz is the cornerstone, and that goes from Gluck through Spontini to Wagner in the opera house, and from Haydn to Brahms in the symphonic domain.
