Pulcinella Brings “Mad Songs” to Barcelona 2nd May
French ensemble Pulcinella will perform at the Auditori in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday 2 May 2017 at 20:30. The evening’s programme, entitled Mad Songs, explores English music from the 17th century, linking the works of Purcell and Eccles with those of Shakespeare. Soloist Xavier Sabata will perform alongside Ophélie Gaillard, Atsushi Sakai, André Henrich and Brice Sailly.
Pulcinella is a collective of virtuoso soloists gathered in a chamber spirit around the cellist Ophélie Gaillard. Its members, all of whom appear with renowned ensembles, share a passion for baroque music performances on period instruments. Those highly experienced musicians, for whom sound and articulation are of the utmost importance, explore some of the major works of the repertoire, but also unearthing or unpublished pieces.
