Stradivaria Performing in London 1st June 2017
Under the direction of Daniel Cuiller, the French ensemble will perform its programme Rebel / Rameau, an extensive programme including “Concerts en Sextuor” and extracts from “Indes Galantes” by Jean-Philippe Rameau, three pieces by composer and violinist Jean-Féry Rebel, in addition to works by Michel Corrette and Jean-Marie Leclair. See more details of the evening’s programme here.
Formed in 1987 by Cuiller, Stradivaria is principally a string ensemble that strives to faithfully reconstruct the sounds of the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble has performed around the world, including performances at the Folle Journée in Japan, the Festival Croisement in Beijing, the Hanoï Opera and the Concours International de Chant Lyrique de St. Petersburg in Russia.
The ensemble’s latest album, Madin: Te Deum pour les Victoires de Louis XV, was recorded live at the Royal Chapel of Versaille. This Te Deum had not been performed in over 250 years, being performed for the last time in 1757 in front of the King. The album was released on Alpha.
