The Van Kuijk Quartet at Stratford on Avon Music Festival – 29th September
The Van Kuijk Quartet (CLB Management) has been invited to perform at the Stratford on Avon Music Festival for a lunchtime concert at 12:00pm on Friday 29th September 2017. The concert comes just weeks before the Parisian string quartet embarks on a tour of the UK 19th October.
Created in 1995, the Stratford on Avon Music Festival supports young artists on the threshold of national and international careers. The 2017 edition of the festival will offer eight days of world class music-making from 26th September to 3rd October including 14 lunchtime and evening concerts, supported by a varied programme of work in local schools by visiting artists and a county-wide competition and recital platform for children aged 11-18 in Warwickshire. One of the festival’s main partners is BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists, a programme that offers promising young artists from around the world the chance to perform in London and throughout the UK.
Named a New Generation Artist last year, the Van Kuijk Quartet will be touring in the UK this October, including concerts at Kettles Yard in Cambridge, the London Symphony Orchestra’s Jerwood Hall, and performances in Milton Keynes, Sheffield, and Portsmouth through the Music in the Round organisation.
The exciting French quartet has already drawn the attention of the English public and critics during the Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition they won in 2015. They are also laureate of the Best Beethoven and Best Haydn prizes. They have performed in major international venues such as the Salle Gaveau in Paris, or the Wigmore Hall in London, and at festivals in Heidelberg, Verbier, Aix-en Provence, or the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival in Austria.
