Yossif Ivanov and Philippe Ivanov at Wigmore Hall on 17th September
At 11:30 on Sunday 17 September, violinist Yossif Ivanov performs at the Wigmore Hall in a lunchtime concert with his brother, pianist Philippe Ivanov. The midday programme is the duo’s debut performance at the famous London concert hall.
After a solo tour with the most famous orchestras of the world such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI or the English Chamber Orchestra, Yossif Ivanov returns to London to play in a more intimate format. The Belgian violonist was awarded First Prize at the Montreal International Competition and won the Public Prize, at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. This Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Ravel programme, full of contrasts, perfectly fits his naturally dramatic and sensational style of play.
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), Violin Sonata No. 1 in D major Op. 12 No. 1
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893), Souvenir d’un lieu cher Op. 42 and Valse-scherzo Op. 34
